The Jake Leg Jug Band brings you the authentic sounds of 1920s and 1930s America – jazz, blues, gospel, ragtime – songs of murder, betrayal, gambling, liquor and redemption. After a year of frustration, with over 50 gigs cancelled, the band is looking forward to being able finally to perform live the tracks from their latest album, Goodbye Booze, released the week after their last gig before lockdown. The album commemorated 100 years since the start of Prohibition and consisted of songs from the time on the subject of banning booze – from both sides of the argument. Goodbye Booze is now also the first release on Coastal Light Records, a jazz and blues vinyl label set up by the Jakes’ Duncan Wilcox and his wife.
