THE SHUFFLE DEMONS (CANADA)
The Shuffle Demons first broke onto the Canadian music scene with an electrifying musical fusion that drew equally on Sun Ra, Charles Mingus, Run DMC and the Beastie Boys. The band was – and is – genre-bending, visually entertaining and funny – and, best of all, can really play. Over their illustrious career the Shuffle Demons have released eight CDs, won numerous awards and made many radio and television appearances, toured the United States five times and Europe 16 times, plus tours at different times to the Caribbean, Central and Southern America, Asia and Australasia. The current line-up of Juno Award winner Richard Underhill (alto sax and vocals), Ryan Oliver and Mike Murley (tenor saxes and vocals), George Koller (bass and vocals) and Stich Wynston (drums and vocals) keeps up the tradition of wild romps, danceable funk and killer solos.
