Artist Bio

A legend of the British jazz scene, Roy Williams came up with traditional jazz bands in the 1960s before becoming undoubtedly the country’s top-rated jazz trombonist in long stints with the bands of Alex Welsh and Humphrey Lyttelton. His international standing is reflected by stints with the World’s Greatest Jazz Band and Bobby Rosengarten’s band in New York. In this country he has figured in many all-star line-ups and is a founding member of the Lady Sings the Blues band.
