With over 30 years on the road, King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys are the archetypal festival favourites, most definitely at Birmingham, but also throughout the UK and whole swathes of Northern and Western Europe. This year’s Birmingham appearance follows hard on the heels of Denmark’s Riverboat Festival and Switzerland’s Jazz Uf Em Platz and shortly before gigs in France and Norway. The King’s ebullient singing has long been the band’s trademark, together with their roaring ensemble sound and uniquely zany performance style.
‘To those who say that Swing is a musical form best left to Americans, prepare to be proven wrong. This British combo is bulletproof!’ – Atomic Magazine, New York City
